TOGETHER for PPE Readiness
- The Center for Medical Interoperability (C4MI) has entered an agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop a trusted platform that supports monitoring and surveillance for personal protective equipment (PPE). The project is conducted as a public-private partnership called TOGETHER (Trusted infOrmation exchanGe to achiEve healTH rEsource Readiness). TOGETHER for PPE Readiness allows for trusted data exchange between and amongst disparate entities to improve the ecosystem’s ability to manage PPE inventory (masks, gloves, gowns, and other protective equipment).
- C4MI has enlisted its members’ hospitals and health systems to participate in this effort. C4MI’s mission is to “accelerate the seamless exchange of information to improve healthcare for all.” The TOGETHER for PPE Readiness project calls for automated, secure, near-real-time provisioning of inventory data amongst a cohort of healthcare providers, stockpile managers, local and state government entities. C4MI is leveraging its expertise in trusted platforms and interoperability for this important effort.
